Description
This course focuses on interdisciplinary and cultural studies to explore the intersections between texts and their societal, cultural, and/or political contexts, including issues of race, sexuality, gender, and ideology. The course explores culture as a system of meanings allowing groups and individuals to give significance to the world and mediate their relationships with each other and their known universe. The course focuses on special areas of study within the broad scope of the humanities and can be narrow in theme, historical period, or both. The course examines the impact of art, literature, drama, philosophy, religion, architecture, music, film, and/or other similar achievements on human history and human society. This course fulfills the Gordon Rule writing requirement and must be completed with a grade of C or higher pursuant to State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.030. This course cannot be repeated for General Education or Elective Credit, regardless of the course topic, except for grade forgiveness purposes.
Prerequisites
Qualify for enrollment in ENC 1101.

None
Conditions
This course fulfills the Gordon Rule writing requirement and must be completed with a grade of C or higher pursuant to State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.030. This course cannot be repeated for General Education or Elective Credit, regardless of the course topic, except for grade forgiveness purposes.
