Description

Students in IDS1107 will connect directly with the college culture of Florida State College at Jacksonville with its inclusive and supportive environment. Drawing on the foundation of metacognition strategies, critical thinking skills, and information literacy, this First Year Experience course teaches persistence and high achievement skills to prepare students for success in college, career, and life. This course provides a deep knowledge of the FSCJ A.A. general education degree experience through coursework and self-assessment. Students will explore various career and A.A. transfer pathways and articulate a personalized academic degree plan. Also included in this course are co-curricular enrichment activities designed to enhance the student experience and their academic success as they earn their degrees.

Conditions

This course must be completed within the first 15-credit hours for First Year Experience (FYE) students. Recommended placement into REA 0007 for non-exempt students.
