Admissions Overview


  1. Apply for admission. Complete your online application and pay your $25 application fee.

  2. Apply for Residency:

    • Log in to your application portal.

    • Click “View” next to the Checklist Item “Residency Declaration.”

    • Complete and submit the form.

    • Monitor your texts, emails and phone calls for replies from Student Records.

  3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Visit the FAFSA website to access the online financial aid application. The FSCJ federal school code is 001484.

  4. Submit high school transcripts as well as all official transcripts from every college and/or university attended. The College will request high school transcripts only for Duval, St. Johns or Clay County high school graduates. If you graduated from a high school outside of the above counties, or if you graduated from a private school, please contact your high school and request an official (sealed) transcript of your grades, credits and graduation date.

  5. Discuss college placement/assessment. Visit the Assessment and Certification webpage to schedule your testing appointment.

  6. Complete the online orientation module. Login to your myFSCJ account and select “Online Orientation” under the Useful Links section.

  7. Complete First Term Advising. Visit any campus Advising Center as a walk-in or schedule an academic advising appointment via the Advising Services webpage.

  8. Obtain your Student ID Card and parking decal. Visit the Library and Learning Commons to get your Student ID card. To obtain a parking decal, follow the FSCJ Parking Permit Registration Instructions.

Admissions Requirements

As provided herein, requirements for admission shall be approved by the Florida State College at Jacksonville District Board of Trustees and shall be reflected in the College catalog. Individuals who are eligible for admission under Florida Statute will be admitted subject to the following requirements.

Florida State College at Jacksonville is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate and baccalaureate degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.
